One-of-a-Kind Heirloom Pieces for United Community Bank

As the jewelry of architecture, we knew the custom-designed chandelier for the United Community Bank Plaza had the power to transform the area from ordinary to regal. The chandelier was a bold project, due in part to its sheer size. The piece is not only 15 feet tall and 8 feet wide, but two-tiered.

Our artisans typically integrate a number of complementary materials to create original, eye-drawing pieces. With brass-inlaid iron and industrial style lights, our team aimed for a traditional, federal look with a modern twist.

In addition to the chandelier, we worked in conjunction with Equip Studio to design and bring to life a complementary steel staircase. Brass-inlaid steel creates a striking contrast against the selected white oak wood.

From conception to completion, this Harper Corporation project took approximately nine months to complete. United Community Bank has been Heirloom’s bank, dating back to 2004, which made this project was a special venture for both of us.

“We are proud of our in-house design capabilities here at The Heirloom Companies,” Ben Moseley, The Heirloom Companies Chief Operations Officer, said. “We are honored to work with Harper General Contractors on yet another magnificent project.”

Both feature elements will be featured in the bank’s open-concept main lobby. The bank, located in Spartanburg, will serve as the main tenant in the new community plaza. The Heirloom team used geometric designs to incorporate remnants of the city’s textile-based history.

“We’re a community bank, and we want the community to be involved and really feel like this is part of their life and their time,” said Kim Mode, president of United Community Bank’s Spartanburg and Cherokee operations. The plaza will feature a community room, kitchen, outdoor seating, and two coffee bars.

We are honored to have worked with such great partners and have our one-of-a-kind work featured in this exciting new development in the Spartanburg area!
