The Heirloom Companies’ Work Earns National Honors

Projects receive Top Job Awards for Seventh Consecutive Year

Campobello, S.C. – For seven years running, work designed and/or produced by The Heirloom Companies was honored by the National Ornamental and Miscellaneous Metals Association (NOMMA) during its 2017 Ernest Wiemann Top Job Competition on Sunday, February 5, in San Antonio, TX. The Heirloom Companies received one silver award in the Interior Railing – Ferrous, Forged category, and two bronze awards in the Gates, Driveway – Nonforged and Furniture & Accessory Fabrication – Forged categories.

“We are excited about these honors, as they show the breadth of our team’s abilities,” said Ben Moseley, Head of Operations for The Heirloom Companies. “Each year, we continue to blend the old-world ‘by hand’ craftsmanship techniques with the latest in technology to produce what we believe is a superior quality product. To have NOMMA’s stamp of approval is a nod that we are grateful to have and to share with our team and our clients.”

Through the Ernest Wiemann Top Jobs Competition, NOMMA awards member organizations for their excellence in design and products in 17 categories. Each category recognizes a gold, silver and bronze winner, all announced at the annual METALfab Conference. Top Job entries are displayed throughout the conference, and every member organization receives one vote per category.

Spanning more than 12 feet tall by 18 feet wide, the gate proportions well with the other elements of this estate’s entrance.

Custom-designed and hand-forged mild steel chandeliers for Glassy Mountain Community Church in Landrum, S.C., earned a bronze Top Jobs Award by NOMMA (click here to view). Led by James Moseley, The Heirloom Companies designed, produced and installed eight chandeliers while working in concert with a team of volunteer committee members of Glassy Mountain Community Church, an historic mountaintop church established in the 1860s. Everything was made from mild steel, designed and fabricated completely by the team at The Heirloom Companies, with some parts being cut out on a burn table, while others were hand forged. Fire scaling and a light hammering achieved the texture.
